About Finn

Finn Maxwell is the middle son of Jason and Kirsten Maxwell and brother to Gavin and Ronan. A 2023 graduate of Colleyville Heritage High School, Finn was attending the University of Arkansas when, in February 2024, he began experiencing unexplained symptoms. Within a week, he withdrew from school and began treatment for a rare and aggressive cancer – alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

Over the following months, Finn endured 39 of 42 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 sessions of radiation. Just before Thanksgiving, he developed gangrene, leading to multiple major surgeries and a prolonged hospital stay. During his recovery, and while off chemotherapy, new tumors appeared on his spinal cord, causing severe nerve impingement. This required emergency spinal surgery.

For the past five weeks, Finn has been working hard to relearn how to walk, all while undergoing further radiation and chemotherapy. He has now spent close to five months in the hospital.

Recently, the family received the devastating news that the chemotherapy is no longer effective and the cancer is continuing to spread. Plans are being made to bring Finn home, where he can be surrounded by the love and support of his family. While they continue to pray for a miracle, the road ahead will be difficult.
